Dirge of A Common Man

With inflation on the riseNoose
The common man thinks twice
Scams that looted his money
Leaving him without a penny

Trying to keep his head down
He works to hide his frown
Listening to empty promises,

Honesty he sorely misses.

Constantly he is torn apart
By fellow beings with no heart.
When his life ends in a blast,
How much are you worth, he is asked

He is just a putty in the devils’ hands
A mute pawn in their plans
Taken for granted and dispensable.
Man’s inhumanity to man is despicable

He tries not to question anything
For it won’t fetch him a thing

He wishes he were never born
As constantly he is made to mourn

The price that a common man pays is just too damn high!
